**Review Summary: Petit Four** Situated in the charming heart of San Miguel de Allende, Petit Four is a delightful café that stands out for its alluring French pastries and inviting atmosphere. Customers rave about the quality of the dishes, with standout options like baked eggs in tomato sauce paired with crispy toasted baguette slices and a celebrated bacon and black olives quiche, generously accompanied by an exceptional salad of fresh greens. The café's ambiance, accentuated by a serene courtyard with a water feature and occasional visits from local birds, makes it the perfect spot to relax with a coffee or pastry. Reviewers like Maria Sotirhos and Graham Short highlight the warmth and flavor of the menu, ranging from giant filled croissants to divine pecan pie. However, some patrons, like Reginald Williams, noted that while the food presentation and flavor deserving of high praise, the service could benefit from a more personal touch. Overall, Petit Four combines culinary excellence with an enchanting setting, making it a must-visit for both locals and travelers seeking a true taste of French-inspired treats in Mexico. Just remember to bring cash, as they don’t accept cards.

I have bought pastries here dozens of times, but today decided to have breakfast. I had the baked eggs in tomato sauce with poblano peppers and cheese. Delicious. And it came with perfectly crispy toasted and buttery baguette slices. Delicious! EDIT: On another visit, I had the bacon and black olives quiche with the most delicious salad I’ve had in a while. Wonderful high-quality greens. Oh, and the quiche was delicious, too!

Petit Four rates a rock solid five stars in all but service, which was rather impersonal and hurried, thus qualifying for only four, rather than five stars. The flavor and presentation of everything we had was sterling, as is the ambience of this delightful establishment. The fresh grapefruit juice was fantastic, too.

Excellent bakery, coffee and all day menu. Has a very nice courtyard with tables to eat. The chef is making amazing cakes all morning so the smells are fantastic. But be sure to bring cash. No cards.

A wonderful French pastry restaurant. The giant filled croissants are amazing. The court yard is open to the elements and has small birds coming in to eat the crumbs on the floor. The ornamental water feature adds a restful sound to the ambiance. I always take an almond croissant to go.

Charming, well executed bakery. The breakfast was phenomenal and the desserts to die for. We had breakfast and then took dessert to go. The pecan pie was unbelievable and the chocolate “voodoo of a cake” was divine.

NY style cheesecake to go... Excellent. Raspberry topping was perfectly done. Any Manhattan Cafe would be happy to have this in their case. Their cakes looked delicious. We will be back soon.

We stumbled upon this place by just walking the streets, my wife and I loved it! The plates are small but delicious, the prices are fare. My wife had the "2-baked eggs in tomato sauce with poblano pepper strips", and I had the "two slices of toasted brioche with smoked salmon" (even though it was delicious, I wish the toast had a different type of bread so it didn't fall apart, but hey, that's just me). The pastries at the pastry counter are delicious too. Overall, a good place to grab a bite in the morning.

Wonderful pastries, very affordable. Cute place. The best French toast we’ve had in years - made from brioche bread, with fresh fruit and real maple syrup.
